REI AMI
A musically dexterous Korean-born alt-pop singer and producer, Rei Ami found success in 2019 with early singles like "Dictator" and "Make It Mine." Over the next two years, she continued to traffic in dark, adventurous pop while building up to the release of her 2021 debut, Foil.
Born in Seoul, Rei Ami moved to the United States with her family at the age of six. As part of a strict Christian household, she got her start in music with piano and guitar, her parents paying for her tutoring in the hopes she'd perform at church services. While so-called "worldly" music was banned in the household, this only pushed Ami to find a diverse range of different styles, with early-life influences ranging from Britney Spears to Luther Vandross.
